There are four spots up for this years election.
The election for board members will take place at the Annual meeting on March 29th. We will also be offering an on-line voting option for those that are unable to attend.
My wife, Jodi Reimnitz, and I have three boys: Son Ashton who will be a Varsity player next year, son Austin who no longer plays hockey, and son Axel who will be a Peewee next year.
I have been an active association member since 2014 and am currently finishing my 1st 3year term on the Board. I am currently the acting Programs Chair. I have served the association in many roles. My wife and I have been team coordinators. I have helped serve on the recruitment and retention committee. I filled in this year as the referee coordinator.
I feel the board has made progress this past year in a positive direction. I would like to represent and serve the association for another term to help guide it and continue on the positive path.
My name is Kira Tronnes. I have been involved with MSHA for many years and in different ways. My brother played hockey on the outdoor rink before the rink was built. I spent many hours in this arena and have always considered it a second home. I grew up watching my mom run the concession stand to being a coordinator and scheduler. My dad coached my brother for many years. They have put blood, sweat and tears into this association over the years and I remember all the hours spent to make it happen.
I have been a coach’s wife for 15 years and now a hockey mom. My husband is the girls coach, my oldest daughter, Kenna, plays 14U and girls Varsity and my youngest daughter, Kynslee, plays 8U.
I love hockey; the bonds it makes and the lessons our kids learn over the years. I want to be a part of helping MSHA succeed and thrive.
Hello, I am Jeff McCormick. My family has been involved in MSHA since 2009. My oldest son, Nate, will be on JV/Varsity next season. I also have three younger children, one of whom also played hockey for six years. I enjoy being involved in youth sports activities and am active as a volunteer coach for basketball, football and baseball.
This is my first time running as a candidate for the MSHA board, and I feel I can bring fresh ideas and constructive input to help shape the future of Mitchell Marlins hockey. Though my child participates in JV/Varsity, I will do my best to represent all levels as I have had children participate in each level of hockey at some point.
Hi I'm Mark Vaughan I'm not quite 50 years old but I'm close. I have 2 kids that are a part of Mitchell Marlins hockey program. Eva 14 will be a 1st year Girl’s Varsity & Ian 13 will be a 2nd year Bantam.
If elected I will represent the Bantams and the Girls Varsity but will also be an asset to all other levels.
My name is Jason Hohn. I am the owner of Hohn’s Carpet Cleaning and Jason Hohn’s Lawn Care. My wife, Allison, and I have three kids, Connor (15), Jada (13), Abby (10).
I have been on the MSHA board since 2017 and have enjoyed getting to work with the other board members and the Marlin parents! I represent the JV/V team which my son, Connor, is on.
My goal is to help MSHA to run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. I am open to listening to any questions or concerns and will work to get them addressed.
My name is Bill Delehant. I am a systems analyst with Avera. My wife Liz is a nurse at Queen of Peace Hospital. Our son Connor is in his 10th year playing hockey. Next year he will be a second year JV/Varsity player. Our other son Jacob is in his 6th year in the program. Next year he will be a first year PeeWee. We also have 2 daughters that enjoy open skate and cheering on their brothers.
I think the board has done a good job of promoting the program. I also believe the changes made with coaching committee will pay dividends in the future. Now that our children are getting older I feel I have the chance to help out more with the program that has been so good for my children.
My name is Teresa Ziehl. My husband, Andy, and I have three boys: Chris who currently lives and works in Sioux Falls, Caden, who will be a JV/Varsity player next year and Carson, who will be a PeeWee next year.
I have been involved with hockey for seven years now. I have been a coordinator for two years at the Squirt level and one year at the Bantam level but I’ve helped out wherever needed from making sure minor officials were filled to helping with equipment checkout to working during forms turn in night.
I would like to focus on the younger levels and keep them and their families interested in hockey all the way through Varsity. My goal would be to increase memberships and retain those families. I think we need to implement more activities to keep the kids excited about hockey. I would also like to look into starting a mentor program, similar to the Big Fish/Little Fish but for all levels. Have kids from one level working with the level below them to give the kids some 1 on 1 interaction.
I will represent the JV player level. I have been involved in MSHA hockey since 1995 and ran fundraising for 4 seasons. I have served on the MSHA board prior, in the 90s or early 2000s.
I believe MSHA's hockey and skating programs offer great opportunity to Mitchell's youth. Kids learn teamwork, develop character, and physical well-being. Serving on the board and supporting our kids would be a privilege.
